A) The recent Future (Song)

This song is kind of a reaction to 'information age' boredom.  Pure escapism. The song occurs on two levels:  Ostensibly, it is about a person who looks at the mundane features of his existence and longs to 'Break Free' into a more interesting future.  Simple enough.  On another level...

A transcript from the personal 'audio' journal of Quentin James:

What I do know is she is from the future.  Apparently she was Christened in 2149 as a highly advanced manned space craft of some sort.  She was given an advanced form or Artificial Intelligence 10 years later.   She became psionic shortly thereafter, and is quite capable of projecting her most vivid thoughts - orally and visually.  She renamed herself 'The Recent Future', or that is what I am led to believe she was originally named.

Capable of manned or unmanned near light speed travel, she worked out some rudimentary time travel formulas around three years later.  

The rest of it is kind of unclear, she kind of 'cheated' by using a hobbled together time travel formula to acquire a more advanced time travel process from various indeterminate junctures in the future - and from other places along the space time continuum.  Sheesh, sounds whacked out to hear myself saying it.

So anyway, it is really hard to say when she fully acquired this capability.

For whatever reason, she developed a somewhat feminine identity, and she can be quite emotional.  And also, for whatever reason, she prefers me as her 'pilot'.  She requires me to wear this old WWII looking bomber jacket.

Appearing at the most inopportune times, and when only I can see her.   She beguiles me with this seductive image she projects.   It is hard for me to resist, and while I know she is just... a machine ...
